Nonita C. Marte, is a specialist in Values Education. She is a graduate of the Master of Arts in Teaching Values Education at the Philippine Normal University (PNU) where she is currently teaching as Associate Professor. After obtaining her Certificate of Teaching (CTP), she worked as a teacher and coordinator of Values Education at Malate Catholic School before teaching at PNU. She is one of the founding members of Pambansang Samahan para sa Edukasyon sa Pagpapahalaga (PSEP) and Higher Education Association for Values Education-National (HEAVEN). She acted as an adviser of the Samahan ng Tagapagpalaganap sa Edukasyon sa Pagpapahalaga (STEP) a department based organization for Values Education majors and a National Adviser for Kabataang PSEP (K-PSEP) which aim to promote Values Education and integration among the youth.
She is a demonstration teacher in Values Education for both national and international audiences. She had been a College Supervisor for Values Education interns and a regular reviewer for the Licensure Examination for Teachers. She has conducted Values Education seminars and training in many parts of the country.
She has attended a series of seminars and conferences in Values Education both here and abroad, namely the International Conference for Values Education in Hong Kong and Character Counts! in Los Angeles, California. She also attended the Online Learning Conference and Expo in Los Angeles, CA which aimed to develop and implement e-learning and the Hollywood Education and Literacy Project (H.E.L.P.) training in Hollywood, CA designed to teach literacy and competency through tutoring and mentoring people of all ages.
She completed an online course on “Teaching an Online Course” at universalclass.comin Florida, USA and she is currently teaching online. She has written Values Education books for elementary, high school and college.
She enjoys curating online teaching resources related to Character and Values Education. One of her advocacies is Digital Ethics, which aims to encourage the youth on how to manage oneself ethically and responsibly online. She created a Values Education/EsP website to help Values Education teachers and students find relevant online resources on character education.
She recently completed the Australia Awards Fellowship Program at Queensland University of Technology on Fostering Digital Literacy: Developing Multimedia Modules on Educational Leadership and Teaching.
